Travelers Against Plastic and SEE Turtles work to make travel more sustainable. We work with more than 100 tourism companies around the world to reduce plastic pollution and end the trade in tortoiseshell products. Our Sustainable Travel Sponsors help support the work of our Too Rare To Wear and Sea Turtles & Plastic programs.
Sea Turtles & Plastic provides funding for projects that help to clean plastic waste from sea turtle habitats and recycle that waste into products that support conservation efforts and local communities. To date, we have funded projects working on plastic waste in Curacao, Colombia, Mexico, Kenya, and Uruguay as well as past support for projects in Costa Rica and elsewhere.
Too Rare To Wear works to end demand for tortoiseshell products around the world. We work with more than 150 tour operators and conservation groups to educate travelers about these products, provide funding for organizations working to reduce the trade in Colombia, Nicaragua, Indonesia, & elsewhere, and study the tortoiseshell trade.
